9th-14th Feburary 2025 - Winter Tour to TorquayAn absolutely brilliant winter trip. Good hotel, good food, great company, lots of laughs, but above all great bowling. For Trentham to win an indoor game of Bowls is a rare event, but to win a series over 3 days is, I think, unprecedented, so well done to all. We have all had an excellent week and many thanks to Kevin (assisted by Karen, as always), all your hard work and preparation paid off. Thanks to everyone for their company on this trip.

16th November 2024. Annual Dinner & Presentation Evening A total of 48 members attended this event, organised by Club Captain Janet Robinson and Lady Captain Sara Lang. Our caterers were Sheila & Paul Foster, who along with Jules Chapman & Sara did a magnificent job in keeping us fed and watered throughout the evening. It was wonderful to see that many new names have been added to our Honours Boards. Our “regular” entertainer, singer Carl even coaxed most of us up onto the dancefloor! Thankyou to everyone involved in making it such a wonderful evening!

20th September 2024. Trentham v Lampeter Bowling Club. We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon hosting our visitors from Lampeter Bowls Club on the 1st day of their annual tour. The game consisted of a full 6 mixed rinks played in a wonderful spirit, and the post-match “sing-song” was a special highlight. Thank you Lampeter!

25th August 2024. Lady Captains Day A wonderfully innovative triples afternoon, with team members changing playing positions every 5 ends was enjoyed by all, and a post-game “hog roast” was appreciated by bowlers and guests alike!

12th July 2024. Trentham 1000. In aid of the 2024 nominated Trentham Charity, the Marie Curie Foundation, 5 of our members played bowls for a continuous 1000 minutes. With incredible support from so many menbers with other associated activities, Trentham has raised well over £2000 for our charity this year

26th May 2024 Captain v Presidents Day

This annual competition was held on May 26th. It was well supported with over 40  people attending to play & watch.

Prior to the match we were delighted to welcome Liz from BIBS, our nominated charity for 2023, to accept a cheque from our President Rick for £360. A big thank you to everyone who contributed by rolling a wrong bias, hitting the wood in short mat, & to Ted & Marilyn for donating their sponsorship money from a sponsored Walk  & to Heather for frantically knitting Chocolate Orange covers at Christmas.

We then all took part in a Spider game to raise funds for VIBE ( Visually impaired Bowling England), which raised £70. Thank you to everyone who participated.

The match  between the Captains Team & the Presidents team was a well fought event, enjoyed by all who took part with the Presidents team being triumphant. Again well done to everyone who took part.

The game was followed by a bring & share tea, Thank you to those who helped set tea up while others were busy playing the match.

Thank you also to the Green Keepers for all their hard work in getting the Green in such an excellent playing condition, & to the bar staff for keeping everyone's thirst quenched.

A fun afternoon enjoyed by many club members.

Once again Thanks to everyone for supporting these events.

April 27th/28th 2024 Open Weekend

Got off to a great start when the first members arrived to open the Club there was already a prospective member looking around (unfortunately they had looked at the wrong Trentham site & got the times wrong) they were made very welcome & offered tea while we set up.

Both days were very well supported by our members, with plenty of help in addition to those on the Rota. A big thank you to everyone who helped especially those who were outside in all weathers, rain, temperatures of 8’, sunshine late on, fortunately no snow!

Over the course of the two days, we had 14-16 prospective members come & look round, one even paying his money there & then, everyone took a membership form away with them and to date 12 applications have been received. An amazing response. Welcome to everyone who has joined Trentham Bowls Club.
